3 What is November 11th called in Britain?


It called Remembrance Day. And it is also known as Popy Day.

Wreathes are layed beside war memorials by companies, clubs and societies.

A national ceremony takes place at the Cenotaph in Whitehall, London.


(3) Why?


People wear a red popy in memory of those who sacrificed their lives for us during wars.


(4) How many years is it since the end of World War One?


It is 89 years.



(5) What is the red flower?



It is the Popy.



(6) Why is this red flower used on November 11th?



Only one living thing the popy flowering each year with the coming of the warm weather , brought life , color and reassurance to those still fighting.

The State Opening of Parliament.

London is a royal city and has preserved its ceremonies and traditions over hundreds of years.

Some are every day and aome are every year.
